August has been featured in a variety of different design blogs and top website design rankings numerous times so we decided to take a closer look and find out how it stands out from its peers and why the design seems so timeless and pleasing.
Here at Marstudio we have a soft spot for gorgeous background images that fill the screen and provide a breathtaking backdrop for the content. So we scoured the net in search of sites that use the same treatment and we found lots of them. Yet putting them side by side, August stood out no matter how funky and cool the other competitors were. The simple design, elegant content placement, attention to small details such as background fading in, and how content is composed, made it clear to us that the winner of our Beautiful Design of the Week should be August.
