The Battery is creators’ Xochi and Michael Birch’s gift to San Francisco: an extravagant five-story private club complete with a restaurant, several bars, hotel suites, a library, a game room, a wine cellar, a gym and spa, and even more, for $2,400 a month. Sounds exquisite and over-the-top? It is, and The Battery has gorgeous branding by MM to match. Just about every single item within The Battery is branded, from laser-etched wood blocks that serve as member invitations, to custom icons used throughout the club’s range of material. The logo itself embodies luxury. The dark blue color seems high-end and lavish. The serif font appears established and affluent, while the uniqueness of the “A”, and somewhat the “Y”, adds a certain quirkiness and curiosity to the brand.
The decadent, comprehensive brand would be a fun creative exercise for any branding and design firm. Well done, MM.
