Sometimes customers get attached to a really great brand with strong design elements. They come to have certain expectations of your business and they associate that with your logo. The downside to this is that sometimes they can get too attached. Case in point? The new Google redesign.
While Google was right to make modifications to keep their logo up-to-date, some customers became irate that they changed it, and took to Twitter to voice their concerns. Does that mean you should never update your logo? Absolutely not! But Google was wise to publish a blog post explaining the reasoning behind their changes.
