What the “Big Game” Can Do for Your Brand, Without a TV Ad

Last year we created a “commercial” poking fun at the exorbitant costs of airing an ad during the “Big Game”… and we’ve just found out that it received an Honorable Mention from the 2016 AVA Digital Awards!

However, we aren’t the only ones who have found creative ways to make the most of this time of year, when consumers have a heightened interest in brands and advertising as we look forward to the big-budget ads of the big game. This week, AdWeek reported on how brands such as Volvo and Adobe are currently using social media and regional ads to “ambush” public interest in the game, without the maximum price tag of a TV spot during the actual game.

Some companies that do plan to air a TV ad also recognize the value of promoting their hard work online before the day of the game, while others are offering teaser content ahead of time but saving surprises for the big day.
